I promised a test case<\/a> for my latest problem and here it is: Gecko’s stubborn legend<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A few things worth noting:<\/p>\n

  1. \n

    In reality the yellow background will be a gradiant background image within each box, so I can’t just apply the background to the form.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Opera starts out displaying the upper form as FireFox does. The addition of position: relative<\/code> (with no top<\/code>, left<\/code>, etc.) to the styles for legend<\/code> magically changes that.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    IE7 breaks the * html<\/code> hack so some further work will be needed to align the legend horizontally without breaking things in any other browser.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    Gecko doesn’t seem to apply float<\/code> or display<\/code> (except display: none;<\/code>) to legend<\/code> elements at all.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
